Who's the best superhero Superman or Batman?

  • I'd like to know who's the best superhero in the DC universe.


  • superman is my favorite superhero of all time ( batman my second ) but in a fight batman would win because he knows how to kill every other superhero ;)


  • Batman. Theres something more admirable about the fact that his super ability is a result of his genius. Its not genetic. He worked for it.

  • I don't think either Batman or Superman are the "best superhero" in the DC universe, but such judgments are always highly subjective. Historically, both Superman and Batman are important to comic books, but while Batman showed that an original costumed character who had no inherently unusual or impossible abilities could sell great numbers of comic books, Batman is at least partially derivative of Lee Falk's character "The Phantom" with a few fillips from various pulp magazine and movie characters thrown in for good measure, Superman is an amazingly unprescedented character. Batman could not have opened the floodgates for the expansion of original characters in what had basically been a medium that reprinted material from newspaper strips and Sunday pages. Superman, on the other hand, could and did launch many imitators and paved the way for comic books which featured original characters, so in terms of influence, Superman could be considered a "better" character than Batman.

    For my money, DC comics has dozens of characters which are more entertaining and appealing than either Superman or Batman. For my money, both Aquaman and Jo'nn Jo'nzz (the Martian Manhunter) are more interesting than either Batman or Superman.

  • Superman. He has actual powers. Doesn't need appliances. Batman is way cool though. I wish they were real. We need them.

  • I think Batman is better than Superman because Batman hasn't got any superpowers. He's not some alien or something. He worked hard and traveled around the world learning new martial arts skills. Batman is smart too. He had to work to get where he is now.
